So in College Football 25, you have to start at the beginning of the 2024 season, which is where we will begin. Sam Leavitt starts as an 83 overall and Cam Skattebo begins at a 90. Lets see if we can get to the playoff like in real life.
Year 1 – 2024 – 7-6 Record (4-5 B12)
As year 1 comes to a close, along with Cam Skattebo’s career in Tempe, the Sun Devils didn’t come close to the real life expectations they set for themselves. Missing the B12 Championship and only making the Duke’s Mayo Bowl against North Carolina. The worst loss of the season was getting dominated in the Territorial Cup, 45-21. Sam Leavitt amassed over 3,200 yards and 27 TDs. Cam Skattebo had 1,400 yards finished 10th in Best RB voting along with being drafted in the 4th Round. Leif Fautanu finished 7th in Best Center voting and Raleek Brown finished 3rd in Best Returner voting. Cam Skattebo made the B12 1st Team, Xavion Alford made the 2nd Team and Sam Leavitt and K’Vion Thunderbird made the Freshman Team. In terms of the recruiting trail, the Devils finished 65th in the country and grabbed 4 Star Guard Tyler Martino.
Year 2 – 2025 – 3-9 Record (2-7 B12)
Heading into year 2 of the simulation, Sam Leavitt stays at an 83 OVR and Jordyn Tyson bumps up to an 88 OVR. After a step forward to 7-6 in 2024, the next year was a huge disappointment. Leavitt got hurt and only had 1,800 yards, which brought down Tyson’s total to 570. Clayton Smith finished 8th in Best DE voting and made the B12 First Team. Xavion Alford made the B12 2nd Team for the 2nd straight year and that’s about all the positives. Another loss to Arizona, and an even worse one to Texas State. Xavion Alford got picked in the 6th Round and Clayton Smith got picked in the 7th. Recruiting was much better, finishing 36th in the country and picking up 5 Star EDGE Keenan Tryon.
Year 3 – 2026 – 6-7 Record (4-5 B12)
Wiping that last season off our minds, Leavitt moved up to an 88 OVR to join Jordyn Tyson at the same rating. The Devils found themselves in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl against, losing to Georgia Tech. Leavitt had 3,000 yards and 26 TDs. Korbin Hendrix surpassed Jordyn Tyson as the WR1 in Tempe with almost 900 yards. Kyson Brown passed 1,000 yards on the ground. Ramar Williams finished 8th in DPOY voting, 7th in Best DE voting, and 9th in Lombardi voting, Kyson Brown was 7th in Best RB voting, and Kanyon Floyd was voted the 8th Best Punter. Kyson Brown made the B12 First Team, C.J Fite and Kanyon Floyd made the 2nd Team, and Eric Stoudemire and Tyler Martino made the B12 Freshman Team. We finally got a win against Arizona and a 41-0 win against Colorado. Raleek Brown went to the NFL in the 4th Round and Jordyn Tyson went in the 6th. Recruiting was the best it’s been all sim, bringing in a Top 25 class and 5 Star DT Rico Antonio.
Year 4 – 2027 – 5-7 Record (4-5 B12)
The sim is approaching a close and were running out of time to make a CFP run. Sam Leavitt leaves Tempe to go to the Oregon Ducks and our new starter is Sophomore Colby Beaver. Kyson Brown and Korbin Hendrix are going to be his top 2 weapons. Sam Leavitt and the Ducks roll into town in Week 1 and we stun the whole world with a huge win against the #4 Oregon. That was just about where the fun stopped, going 5-7 and missing a bowl game again. Colby Beaver threw for almost 3,000 yards and Kyson Brown almost hit the 1,000 mark. Kanyon Floyd made the B12 First Team, Jack Sunsjar made the 2nd Team and Thad Rush and Rico Antonio made the Freshman Team. Sam Leavitt unfortunately made a real good decision leaving the Sun Devils, going 14-3, winning a National Championship and being one of the top 3 QB’s in the Nation. Kyson Brown was a 5th rounder and Sam Leavitt was a 2nd rounder from Oregon. ASU brought in the 28th best class and grabbed the younger brother of Tyler Martino, George, another 4 Star Guard.
Year 5 – 2028 – 7-6 Record #22 (5-4 B12)
The last season of the sim, went better than the past ones but still not good enough. Going into the season, the skill positions were not a strong suit of the Devils, and their best QB, RB, or WR was Eric Stoudemire at an 84 OVR. ASU found themselves in the Pop Tarts Bowl against SMU and Colby Beaver threw for 3,270 yards finding Eric Stoudemire 57 times for 984 yards. Tyler Koutouvides made the B12 First Team, Martell Hughes made the 2nd Team, and Rashawn Winston, Shaq Atogwe, Manny Coakley, and Dom Heflin made the Freshman Team. No players got drafted and this sim goes out with a whimper.
This sim went horribly in terms of ASU’s current expectations but that is how the game that came out before last season saw the Devils. It really is a testament to how great their season was last year. 6 players were drafted, 7 if you include Sam Leavitt. Players were voted top 12 for awards 9 times, Ramar Williams getting top 10 votes for 3 different awards in 2026. 5 B12 First Team selections and 21 total All-B12 selections.
