5. Brinson Pasichnuk

Brinson Pasichnuk was one of the greatest players to ever wear the fork. The Alberta native spent 4 seasons with the Sun Devils and wore a letter for 3, donning the “C” for his Junior and Senior seasons. In 136 games in his time in Tempe, Pasichnuk scored 39 goals and had 68 helpers for 107 points in the Maroon and Gold. Brinson would go on to have a cup of coffee in the NHL, playing 4 games with the San Jose Sharks, but unfortunately not recording a point.
4. Robert Mastrosimone

Robert Mastrosimone only spent one year in Tempe but boy did he make an impact while he was there. In 38 games he had 11 goals and 31 assists for 42 points after transferring from Boston University. He led the team in points over Josh Doan, who will make an appearance later on in the list, and would move onto the AHL where he is currently with the Toronto Marlies, the affiliate for the Toronto Maple Leafs
3. Cullen Potter

Cullen Potter has the most potential out of anyone on this list and anyone in ASU history. Potter holds a Consensus NHL Draft Ranking of #18. Cullen had 22 points in 35 games, which is incredible as an 18 year old in the NCHC. What comes next for Potter?
2. Josh Doan

Coming from Arizona hockey royalty, the son of Shane Doan, one of the greatest Arizona Coyotes of all time, a lot was expected of Josh. He spent 2 seasons with the Sun Devils after being drafted 37th Overall by his dad’s old team, the Coyotes. Two point per game seasons and a total of 75 points in 74 games later, Doan found himself on the Coyotes, where he played 11 games before the team uprooted to Utah, where he has split time with the Mammoth and Tucson Roadrunners of the AHL.
1. Joey Daccord

Joey Daccord will always go down in Sun Devil lore, being the first player to sign an NHL contract from the still relatively new Sun Devil hockey team. The Massachusetts native won 32 games with the fork on his chest and posted one of the best save percentages in ASU history. Daccord bounced around the minor leagues for his first few years in the league but eventually found a solid starting job in Seattle after 126 games. You know your player in generally well respected when Canada is trying to get him a passport to poach him for the Olympics in 2026.
